How To Install a Template in Blogger (Blogspot) Blog.

As blogger is a free platform, so resources are very limited and you cannot do everything on it. But for a beginner, blogger.com is best to start a blog.

How To Install a Template in Blogger (Blogspot) Blog.

Method I

Step 1: Open the browser on your PC and search for free blogger templates, you can see a list of different website which provides blogger templates for free. Make a Preview and download any one template which you like and suite your blog niche.

Step 2: After downloading the templates you will get a .rar file (zipped file). Extract that file inside a new folder (create a new folder). To extract that file, select it and hold right-click then select “Extract here”.

Inside the extracted file, you will get a file with .xml extension. This file is important.

Step 3: Open your blogger account and choose the blog for which you want to change the theme. Click on Theme and then click on Backup/Restore in the upper right corner of that page. A pop-up window will appear with a name Theme > Backup/Restore.

Step 4: Browse that file which you had extracted earlier, inside that file you will find a file with .xml extension, select that file and click on Upload. View your new template by clicking on view blog.

Sometime the above method of uploading a template does not work and you may get an error message as shown in the picture below. In that case try Method II to upload your template.

Method II

In this method you will need the .xml file from the folder in which you had extracted the download template file.

Step 1: Open the extracted folder and select .xml file. Make a right-click on the file and open with > Notepad/Notepad++. Now copy the entire code from notepad by pressing Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C.

Step 2: Open the dashboard of your blogger account, go to Theme and click on Edit HTML.

Step 3: Select and replace the entire code of the box (inside Edit HTML) with the Notepad code by pressing Ctrl +A and Ctrl +V and click on Save theme.

The template has been uploaded successfully, now click on view blog to check the new template. Now you just have to do some customization like arranging the menu bar and social media icons which you can easily do from the layout section of your blogger account.

Changing the blogger email address or moving one blogger account to another email address is not a one-step process and blogger does not permit to it directly but still, there is a way by which you can change your email address for the blogger account.

There are many possible reasons for which you want to change the email of your blogger account.

Some Possible reasons are that-

• Most of blogger start there blog with a random email address and later they think that the email address should match the blog niche. You want to change the email address because you want to match your email Address with the blog niche.

• You create a blog and after running it for a few months, you got a buyer and to change the ownership of that blogger account, you want to change the email address with your buyer email address.

• You are running multiple blogs and finding it difficult to manage all with the same email id. To manage your different blogs with different email id.

How To Transfer one Blogger Account to Another Email Address.

Before starting the process, let us consider that you want to move a blogger account from Email A to Email B.

Here are the following steps to do so-

Step1: Open your blogger account and select the blog for which you want to change the email (Email A) then go to Settings > Basic. Under Basic settings, scroll down and move to Permissions then click on +Add Authors.

Step 2: Add another email Id (Email B) to which you want to move this blogger account and click on Invite authors.

Step 3: Open the other email account (Email B) in a different browser or device. Now open the email that you got and click on Accept invitation. After clicking on Accept invitation button, you will redirect to blogger account.

Important note:

Perform this entire process with two different browsers, one browser login with Email A and another login with Email B. You can also use two different devices.

Step 4: Inside the blogger account, check the email shown there (should match with Email B) and click on Accept invitation button once again.

Now you can see that the blog is added to the blogger account in which you want to add but as an author profile and you are not getting the complete access of the blog. To get the complete access of the blog and remove the same blog from the previous email address (Email A), continue the steps shown below-

Step 5: Open the previous blogger account (Email A), go to Settings > Basic > Permissions. Select the new email address which is added there and select Admin from the drop-down menu.

Step 6: Now open another blogger account (Email B) and go to Settings> Basic> Permissions section, remove the email address (Email A) by clicking on the cross button.

This is the complete process by which you can change the email address of a blogger account or move one blogger account to another.

Suggestion

My small suggestion is if you want to change the email address of your (Blogspot) blog then try to change it in earlier days of your blogging because once you start with a blog, your visitors getting connected with your email, your Adsense account and many more things are there and changing the email address at that time also follow the same process but may affect you a lot.

01. Click on ‘view site information’ in the upper left corner [ Lock Symbol ] and click on ‘site setting’.

02. Here, you will find the list of permission that you want to Allow/Block. Scroll down and you will find an option ‘sound’ set it to ‘mute’.  

Block auto-playing videos on Chrome [ Desktop ].

01. Open your Chrome browser and type “chrome://flags/#autoplay-policy” in the Address bar. You will redirect to the flags page and here you can change the default setting of Autoplay Policy.

02. Change the default setting to ‘document user activation is required’ which mean that video will play only when you interact with it or when you want to play it.

Now, no video will start playing automatically until you want to play it.

Block auto-playing videos on Chrome [ Android ].

Google Chrome auto-playing setting for Android devices are different from desktop chrome setting for auto-playing videos.

01. On Android, open your Chrome browser and click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser and open settings.

02. Under settings, scroll down and click on Site settings > Media.

03. Inside Media, you will find Autoplay an option which you can enable or disable.

How to block auto-playing videos in Firefox.

There is a couple of ways to stop auto-playing video in Firefox.

01. Open your Firefox browser and type ‘ about:config ’ in the address bar. You may get a warning, click on ‘I accept the risk’.

02. Inside the search box, shown above search “media.autoplay.default” (without cots).

03. Double click on it and change the integer value to ‘1’ which means “Block all autoplay video”.

1: Block all auto-playing videos.

2: Get asked on a by-domain basis about whether or not to play.

In the new version of Firefox, it is set with ‘1’ but if you are using the old version than change the integer value to 1.

One last thing which you can do is simply install the Flashblock add-on which can block any flash videos or content that start playing as soon as you visit the site. If you want to run the blocked item, simply click on Play Button.
