How To Enable Reader Mode in Google Chrome.

Enable Reader Mode

Web pages are often teeming with distracting elements, such as adverts, menus, pop-up messages, and so on. Google Chrome has a hidden “Reader mode” feature that removes these distractions to present a clean, ad-free article that’s easier to read and print.

Before going through the settings, make sure that you are on the latest version of your Chrome browser version 80. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner to open the Chrome menu, move to ‘Help’ in the menu, and click on ‘About Google Chrome.

Chrome Update

Enable Google Chrome Reader Mode.

Once the update is finished, Go to chrome://flags/#enable-reader-mode and look for Enable Reader Mode.

Flags settings

It’s disabled by default, open the drop-down menu and select the ‘Enable’ option, and relaunch Chrome. After relaunching Chrome, it will add a ‘Toggle Distilled page contents’ option to the menu.

Reader Mode

When you want to read an article on the web, open Chrome’s menu and click ‘Toggle Distilled page contents’ to strip out everything except the text and images. This only works on articles, not home pages forum pages, and so on.

Open Reader Mode of Web Page.
